Seawater RO Membranes
SWRO Desalination Series
High-pressure spiral-wound SWRO elements for coastal desalination plants, offshore platforms, and island water supply systems. Salt rejection ≥99.8%. Available in standard and low-energy configurations.
Engineered for Seawater Desalination
TL Environment's Seawater RO Membrane series is specifically engineered for the demanding operating conditions of seawater desalination: high salinity (up to 45,000 ppm TDS), high operating pressure (up to 8.3 MPa), and elevated feed water temperatures in tropical and subtropical coastal environments.
The product line includes standard high-rejection elements (TL-SW series), low-energy elements for energy recovery device configurations (TL-SWL series), and high-rejection elements for potable water quality compliance (TL-SWC series). All elements use a polyamide thin-film composite membrane on a polysulfone support layer, housed in a fiberglass pressure vessel-compatible shell.
Each element is factory-tested at full operating pressure with seawater-equivalent saline solution. Test reports documenting actual permeate flow and salt rejection are included with every shipment.

SWRO Product Specification Table
Test conditions: 32,000 ppm NaCl, 25°C, pH 8.0, 8% recovery. Permeate flow ±15%. Salt rejection is minimum value.

Built for Seawater Conditions
Ultra-High Salt Rejection
Nominal NaCl rejection ≥99.8% ensures product water TDS well below WHO potable water guidelines, even from high-salinity seawater feeds.
High-Pressure Rated
Elements rated for operating pressures up to 8.3 MPa (1,200 psi). Compatible with high-pressure SWRO pump and energy recovery device configurations.
Biofouling Resistance
Optimized feed spacer geometry and surface chemistry reduce biofouling tendency in warm, nutrient-rich coastal seawater environments.
Boron Rejection
Enhanced boron rejection variants available for projects requiring compliance with WHO boron limit of 2.4 mg/L in drinking water.
Low Energy Consumption
Low-energy (SWL) series elements reduce specific energy consumption in combination with pressure exchangers and high-efficiency pumps.
Seawater-Grade Materials
All wetted components are selected for long-term compatibility with high-salinity, high-chloride seawater. Fiberglass outer wrap resists corrosion.
